Airline Anecdotes

When I came back for my first layover in Singapore, Cik Atin told me that I should write a script about all the stories I have in the airline. And Adib suggested hey why not you just like take all your blog entries it'll be great. Dun think I'm capable of writing a script but this is my outlet to vent rite? Had a few interesting flights so far.

Had a flight from Columbo to Dubai via Male. The time frm Columbo to Male is like an hour so we don't haf time for a whole hot lunch. All we had for service is was a cold sandwich. On our part we also made a boo boo lah. Gave menus that were for the Male- Dubai sector. Can just hear my mum saying, "We will never do that in SQ!" Niwae, mistake done, doing the service. This guy complains, "What kinda food is this? Award winning airline serving cold food like this?"

Me: Sorry sir, it's very short flight we dun haf time to heat the meals we only haf time to give the meals and collect.

Man: My son didn't even touch his meal! Not only us, everyone don't even like the meal.

Me: Sorry there's really nothing much we can do.

Man: The flight from columbo to Male has always been an hour you guys should do something to improve it.

Me: That's a good suggestion sir, let me get you the comment form you can inform the company and they can improve on it.

Man: No I dun haf time....

Haiz... But he has time to talk his head off to me. Once I had a lecture this and was told that when customers are told to complain about something in writing, they are too lazy and won't be bothered. Then how can we improve even if we write reports your say is most important. People dun understand that we had a short period of time. And if the flt is full yes we have time to rest. But when it's full we dun haf time for much of anything.

Just went to Frankfurt. German flights are usually really pleasant to do. Not being prejudice but it's true. So was looking forward to it and on comes on the UAE under 16 soccer team. Yikes... Locals have the power to do whatever they want. Their government practically are asking these guys to work... but hey they dun want to. What would I give to stay in Singapore with the our government making positions for us to work in. Anyway, my crew and I had the pleasure of experiencing their power trip. They're teenage boys who rarely fly and are kinda facilitated with latest models of handphones, laptops, MP3 players and PSPs. Announcements on Emirates are done in both Arabic and English. So the saftey videos are also in both languages. But do this pple understand? Will they listen to u? A big no! I dunno why but they were out to make our lives difficult. While doing the service we offered them somthing to eat. No I dun want to eat. Ok fine. 1 hour after we do the service, please give me something to eat. Not only one but like 10 pple wanted it. In Economy we don't practice on demand service cos everything has to be done in masses and it'll be easier for everyone if they eat at the same time. Unfortunately these kids didn't get the idea. So there they were for 6 hours, making noise. Turning on mobile phones when they're not supposed to. Basically having a party. It was unfortunate that I was on the flight but it's the job hazard. They are just mean... My pleasant German flight was not as nice as I wanted it to be. But I made it!

Dunno if there'll be more of these rantings... but that certainly helped! hehe... Till nxt time!
